A former payroll manager for Detroit Public Schools was sentenced Thursday to 24 months in prison for defrauding the district of hundreds of thousands of dollars by writing payroll checks to dead employees and another who was receiving disability payments.
According to the US Department of Labor, the unemployment rate for March 2010 stood at 9.7%. At a time when the unemployment rate is so high, imagining too few workers could prove difficult. However, a seismic workforce change is looming and will get underway in the next few years.
